Effective Tuesday, June 14th, GPSL will now be shooting at theRange, Guns & Safes(RGS) indoor range.

Our regular shooting day will change from Wednesday to Tuesday, with the same 6:00pm -- 9:00pm time.

Why are we moving our location?

GPSL was offered an opportunity to reconnect with people who supported us in the past and wish to support us again. The club officers believe this is a positive move for GPSL that will increase our exposure, recognition and membership.

Why are we moving our day?

Ideally, Wednesday would remain our day of choice. RGS already has a ladies night on Wednesday, and so is already "taken". We recognize that Tuesday conflicts with the South Atlanta Practical Shooting Club (SAPSC). Looking at historical data from the past year, we find that rarely do we have members of SAPSC that shoot with us. We believe this is because of the distance between the clubs, the cost of gas, and time spent in traffic. We were offered Thursday night as an alternative to Tuesday, however, withSharp Shooters USAin Roswell now shooting a USPSA match on the 1st and 3rd Thursday, we felt the overlap would impact one or both clubs. Since we'd like to see this new club succeed, we chose Tuesday.

Where isRange, Guns & Safes?

RGS is located at I-85 and Pleasantdale Road (map), less than 1000 feet from the intersection. This range has easy access from Buford, Norcross, Sandy Springs, downtown Atlanta, and Stone Mountain, which covers where the majority of our members come from. RGS also has a location in Forest Park, which is the first address you'll notice on their website. It's doubtful anyone will drive to Forest Park by mistake, but be aware there ARE two locations.

What are the facilities like?

RGS has a 40' x 75' pistol bay, and a 16' x 75' rifle bay. The backstop is a rubber wall backstop, similar to what we've been using. The floor is un-polished concrete, so we can expect the traction we're used to. The area is well lit, and there is good ventilation. In a recent visit to the range, the bays were at a pleasant temperature even though the outside temperature was well into the high 80's. There are restrooms and a Coke machine in the sales area. For shooters who buy ammunition for the match at the range, RGS offers the same high-quality Atlanta Arms that you're used to.

What if this doesn't work for me?

If by the most unfortunate circumstance the day or location doesn't work for you, GPSL will refund the pro-rated remainder of your membership. We sincerely hope these changes don't have an impact on anyone where that would happen. We think you'll find the new facilities and location quite to your liking, and very much look forward to our regular shooters continuing to join us.

We believe these decisions are in the best interest of GPSL's membership and the club itself. GPSL has changed ranges several times since the club was started in 1991,and we've had a good run at our current location.
